Demo Page for the DASC Web Map API

The frame below contains a sample map that can be generated with a simple URL reference to our web map services. The web map uses the base URL http://www.kansasmaps.org/services/rest/map.cfm, to which can be added various parameters controling the size and content of the map.

For example, passing the "help" parameter to the above URL (like this: http://www.kansasmaps.org/services/rest/map.cfm?help) will display all the available parameters one can set to display the map as the web developer chooses.

There is a list of currently availble layers for use with this service.

An API or application programming interface is a set of rules for applying new functionality to one program (such as a web page) from another program (such as another web site or script library). Although the term is very general and applies to all kinds of programming environments, in the case of DASC, it refers to the rules we publish for using our data services in your applications.
